Many students become overwhelmed with navigating the college experience outside the classroom and though the technical requirements like financial aid and applications are important, the site’s focus addresses the practical aspects as well as classroom survival.

Hi, my name is Troy.
I have been in higher education (community college to research university) since 1996 as a student, support employee, and faculty member, including the last ten years as a full-time tenured community college English instructor.
I love being involved in higher education, and contributing articles about making the most of college life is a continuing evolution for me. When I am not classroom teaching, pursuing my own creative writing, or building this informational website, I am playing electric bass and acoustic guitar in gigging bands as well as travelling professionally and personally.
